BLACKSPOT AND TEAT CREAM NOVAVET
BLACKSPOT AND TEAT CREAM NOVAVET

Description

Great for teat cuts and lesions especially blackspot disorder. Apply onto a cleaned teat and cover with a teat bandage which will keep cream working and the wound clean.
- Contains: Clandual 10% in a Silcock Base

What is Blackspot?

Blackspot is lesions on the teats of cows and are almost always confined to the tip and including the orifice of the teat sinus. They are deep ulcers containing granulation tissue and usually a black spot. Milk flow is impeded and the lesion is very painful. They are caused by excessive suction during milking although Staphylococcus aureus is usually recoverable from the lesions. Also called black pox. Blackspot grows up the teat canal causing the orifice to open and leak milk. This may lead to bacteria that can cause mastitis to enter the udder.
